College Basketball RPI: NC State Sticks In Top 20

This is an odd thing to write, but right now Miami is in line for a No. 1 seed in the NCAA tournament. The Hurricanes are second in the latest RPI standings, which makes State's last-second loss all the more painful from a resume perspective. Oh well. NC State remains in fine shape RPI-wise, and the ACC in general has made some improvements in the standings, which can only help the Pack going forward. Florida State--which the Pack plays twice--is approaching top-50ish territory. Another win over UNC would help a lot as well.

The complete RPI standings for the ACC:

1. Duke
2. Miami
17. NC State
36. UNC
65. FSU
73. Maryland
81. UVA
120. GT
127. Wake
140. BC
151. Clemson
170. VT

In OOC news, both Oklahoma State and UConn are in the top 30. UMass slipped to No. 52, while Stanford is No. 57. Michigan is No. 5. So at this point State has a 3-4 record against the RPI top 50, if I'm mathing this thing up correctly. Getting those fringe teams into the top 50 would obviously help quite a bit.
